A Maiden's Tear
Marc Mosko, 1992
- Alone in the cold of Winter's death,
- a hand of freezing fingers,
- frightened, forlorn a maiden weeps,
- tears to ice for her lover's death.
- Red snow 'bout his body,
- cut by iron deep,
death found in war.
- She offers prayer for his soul,
- then lays locks to still flesh,
- to die with the year and be born not afresh.
