If Only I Could
Marc Mosko, 1996
- Run to me,
- for I cannot run to you.
- Come to me,
- for I am paralyzed.
- My legs know no action, my mind is numb to them.
I cannot will exertion; I cannot, I refuse.Walk not to me,
- carry me to you swiftly.
- Inch not to me,
- the measure is too small.
- Climb the obsticales,
- for here am I transfixed.
- Find your way amoung the dangers,
- relieve my pain with your care.
- Close the distance between us,
- reach to me and touch.
- Let your feet be mine,
Bear the burden upon your hips:
I am but dead weight in your arms.I am... terrified.
